Hi everyone! My name is Ally Chu and I’m a third-year CS major and stats minor. I am excited to be your ULA for CS24, so don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. I’m here to help! When I am not knee-deep in CS, I enjoy baking, knitting, taking sunset walks, and playing tennis. Looking forward to a great quarter with everyone!
Sanjana Shankar, LA
Hello everyone! My name is Sanjana Shankar and I am a 3rd year Computer Science major! This is my first time being a ULA for this course and I am looking forward to working with you all and helping you all learn about these fundamental computer science concepts that will be applied throughout your lives. Apart from coding, I enjoy singing and learning how to play my favorite songs on my acoustic guitar as well as dancing as I learned Indian classical dance for the majority of my life! This is my third quarter being a ULA at UCSB, so please feel free to approach me with any questions regarding student life, the computer science major and the classes offered, and quite literally anything as I enjoy getting to know you all!

Hello everyone! My name is Yaoyi Bai and I’m a 5th year PhD candidate. My research mainly focuses on computer graphics and rendering. Currently, C++ is still the most widely used programming language in renderers and our research. So I sincerely hope that I can help you throughout this quarter. Hey everyone, my name is Joseph Ng. I’m a 1st year CS Masters student and I’m excited to be your teaching assistant this quarter. A little more about myself: I have a passion for game development and enjoy solving the Rubik’s Cube and other twisty puzzles, a hobby known as Speedcubing. Hi everyone! My name is Nawel, I am a 3rd year Ph.D. student in the CS department. I graduated with an Engineering/Master’s degree from the National School of Computer Science in my hometown of Algiers - Algeria. I then moved to Japan to pursue my second Master’s at the University of Tokyo, before joining Hitachi, Ltd. where I worked on various research projects. Hello everyone! I’m Xinlei Feng, a second-year Master’s student in CS, with a focus on iOS development. I have a deep love for national parks and photography, often combining these interests on adventurous trips. As a sports enthusiast, especially in table tennis, I enjoy both the energy of the game and the tech world. As your TA, I’m here to assist and make our course a great experience.
